Little Mia loved animals. Every evening, she played in the park near her house, feeding the birds and watching squirrels climb trees. One rainy afternoon, as she was walking home from school, she heard a soft whimpering sound near a bush.
Curious, Mia followed the sound and found a tiny, shivering puppy. Its fur was wet, and it looked scared and hungry. Mia gently picked it up and wrapped it in her scarf.
"You must be lost," she whispered. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you."
Mia took the puppy home and gave it warm milk. She dried its fur and made a soft bed for it. The puppy wagged its tail happily, licking Mia’s hand as if to say, “Thank you!”
The next day, Mia put up posters around the neighborhood, hoping to find the puppy's owner. Soon, a kind old man came knocking at her door.
"This is my lost puppy, Bruno!" he said joyfully. "I've been searching for him everywhere!"
Mia smiled and handed the puppy over. The man was so grateful that he gave Mia a beautiful storybook as a reward. "Kindness always comes back to you," he said with a warm smile.
From that day on, Mia felt happier than ever, knowing that a small act of kindness could make a big difference.
